I have a love/hate relationship with my hair...
It's super oily and I can hardly go two days without washing it, but - in the words of Olivia Pope: it's handled... if I use the right products.
Here's what worked for my hair in 2015:
1. BIG Shampoo by Lush $28 - hands down the best thing that could've happened to my hair this past year.
I tried so many shampoos (high-end, low-end) hoping they would make my hair less oily and they basically all failed - some way more than others.
Then this amazing Lush employee recommended this sea salt shampoo and I haven't looked back since.
It's pricey, don't get me wrong... but it's so worth it for how well it works, plus you only need a tiny bit to give your hair a really deep clean.
2. Macadamia Professional 'Weightless moisture conditioning mist' $22 - I rarely use conditioner simply because my hair is so oily that I don't really need it, so when I got a deluxe sample of this leave-in conditioner spray in a Birchbox this past summer I didn't really expect it to work as well as it does.
It gives my hair just the right amount of moisture without completely weighing it down and making my hair look gross... plus a little goes a long way. And it even gives my hair volume.
3. Batiste dry-shampoo $8 - for days when your hair needs a little pick me up.I've tried lots of dry-shampoos and so far this is the best. It does what it's supposed to and it's long-lasting, what more could you want?
4. EVO Shape Vixen $25 - this stuff makes your hair smell like you just left the salon. It's a long-lasting gel that volumizes and styles, and really what more could you ask for. But make sure you only use a tiny amount to style your hair.
