A couple weeks ago I traveled to Texas for my mom's birthday party and spent several days being with my amazing family, here are some of the pictures from my mini-vacation (as you can tell I drank too much caffeine)... my travel vlog below!

There are just some color combinations that just work, and black and olive is just one of those combinations. Plus, sometimes during the summer I don't always want to wear super bright colors, it really just depends on what I feel like wearing that day.
What about you? What are some of your favorite color combinations for summer?

I spent a good bit of my afternoon spending time in a huge garden. Just another day in paradise, right?
My go-to Saturday afternoon uniform is typically casual, note the zebra-print, shorts and flats. This worked perfectly for going to a garden with my family, plus I'm a big fan of the funky zebra-print so I'll find any occasion to wear it.

Sometimes all you really need is to spend time with amazing people.
That's one thing I absolutely love about summer, there's more time to do just that.
My best friend Carrie (the gorgeous redhead) and I go to the same very time-consuming university and I've known her since I was about 8 years old. We don't have much time during the school year to hang out that much, so I love the fact that I've been able to hang out more often.
Plus, spending time with good friends often puts me in the best mood. That's where my extroverted-ness starts and usually stops (I'm much more of an introvert).
Definitely looking forward to more time spent with people I love this summer before the craziness of what will be my LAST year of school starts back up next month.

What is the best way to dress for warmer weather? Flow-y, sheer fabrics and light colors, of course. I'm a big fan of both.
Fortunately for North Carolina, this July hasn't been ridiculously hot yet (yet being the key-word) because of hurricane Arthur cooling everything down (who else thought of the PBS TV show 'Arthur' every time someone on the news talked about it? Don't tell me I'm the only one).
It's always towards the middle of July and pretty much all of August that I wish it were fall again just for the gorgeous weather that comes with it.
