The second half of 2015 was really good for me skin-wise. I started finding products that actually worked for my crazy sensitive-dry skin… which, you have the same type of skin, you know is pretty difficult.
Here are some of the products that worked magic for my skin this past year:
1. Clarisonic Mia 2 in ‘Mod Floral’ $149
This thing has been hands-down the best skin care product of 2015. I bought it in the summer during the Nordstrom semiannual sale after reading and watching so many great reviews.
Let me tell you, this has dramatically changed my skin. I use the sensitive skin brush head (you can buy it here), and it does an amazing job of deep-cleaning my skin.
It’s pretty pricey – $149 not on sale – but I say it’s worth it if you’re looking for something that does a fantastic job of cleaning your skin and changing your overall appearance.
You can find it here.
2. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal mask $25
I love this stuff. It does an amazing job of “clearing your impurities” and making your skin look brighter… and cleaner overall.
Plus it’s made without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates – which is always a major plus.
For the amount of product you get (3.4 oz), the price tag is pretty reasonable.
You can find it here.
3. Sun Bum SPF 50 Original Sunscreen $15
Not only is this packaging adorable – it works well and it doesn’t smell like typical sunscreens.
Side note: I usually hate the way sunscreen smells for some reason… anyone else picky about this?
Anyway… I have to be careful about the type of sunscreen I use because my skin is ridiculously sensitive… so this product is great because it’s hypoallergenic/pretty natural which means my skin doesn’t break out in hives when I use it (talk about annoying).
4. Mario Badescu seaweed cleansing soap ($14) and lotion ($15)
Using these two products along with my Clarisonic has been oh so good for my skin.
These don’t dry-out my skin like most cleansers I’ve tried and they do a really good of of brighting my skin/giving it a really deep clean.
Plus, for the quality, they’re pretty affordable – I would definitely recommend these if you have really dry-skin like I unfortunately do.
5. Lush Cosmetics Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub $23
After some investigation – I discovered (unlike I said in the video below) my favorite shower scrub has not been discontinued… at least not online. An employee at my local Lush said they were getting rid of it – but hopefully just in stores? Because this stuff is like a magic scrub.
It works better than any body exfoliator I’ve ever tried – plus it doesn’t dry out my skin (major plus).
It’s pricey – don’t get me wrong. I typically would not spend that much money on a body scrub, but this stuff is worth it (reason 4,589 why my paycheck should go directly to Lush).
You can (fortunately) buy it here.
6. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter massage cream for stretch marks $5
No, I’m not pregnant.
Now that that’s out of the way – this stuff works reaaally well at diminishing the appearance of stretch marks. And I don’t care who you are, chances are you have… or will have, stretch marks at some point in your life. Plus, at this price? I’ll need a whole truck-load.
Only thing is you have to be pretty consistent using it (1-2 every day)
You can buy it here.
