How insane is it that it’s already the middle of October? I’m not complaining . . . I’m in love with Fall, plus it was my school break the past few days, but it is kinda crazy how fast this year is flying.
Since it’s starting to feel more and more like Fall (NC weather can’t make up it’s mind), the dress/sweater combo is starting to make a major comeback in my life. The combination is simple but looks put together and makes outfits much more versatile.
…Or not, I obviously don’t (the brand, of course).
Button-down – GAP | Shorts – GAP | Oxfords – Madden Girl | Bag – Kate Spade | Bracelet – Charming Charlie | Earrings – Charming Charlie
Oxfords and button-downs just work, add some navy shorts from GAP and you’ve got an outfit made.
Of course, I only really purchase anything from GAP if it’s on sale (college student, what can I say?) and I picked these up for about $15 about a month ago!
I found this hat while I was shopping at Charming Charlie yesterday with my mom, sister, and nieces. Normally hats look so bad on me because my face/head is just not made for most hats, so I was surprised that this one actually looked decent.
Which of course meant that I had to buy it.
Okay, I definitely didn’t have to, but if you’re like me and you’re never able to find hats that actually look good then you understand my struggle and why I was so excited to find this.
Plus, this hat ended up being perfect today because I was woken up and told that we were going out to eat in like 15 minutes, so I had no time to do anything to my hair anyway and I’ve been living out of my suitcase so it was a nice addition to a simple outfit.
This past weekend, by the way, has been pretty amazing. I’m in Texas visiting family and also came for a conference and it has been so nice just taking a break from life… especially now that my last semester of junior year is over.
I have eaten entirely way too much food and spent way too much money and spent a lot of great quality time with a portion of my enormous family, so it’ll be hard going back to reality tomorrow.
I hope y’all had an amazing weekend as well, and a very happy mom’s day!

Top – TJ Maxx | Pants – J.Crew | Flats – JCPenney | Bag – Fossil | Bracelets – Fossil (silver) & Forever21 (“pearls”)
Ah, Spring. The perfect time to wear seersucker anything. I found these pants a few weeks ago and fell in love (I fall in love with stuff pretty easily). These pants just scream Spring/Summer and I see myself getting a lot of use out of them this year.
Today I decided to combine them with this navy top I found a while ago. I’m all about taking different shades of the same color and matching those pieces together. Shades of blue typically work really well together.
Is there a piece of clothing you see yourself getting a lot of use from this Spring and Summer? Let me know!

I’m sitting here in my hotel eating a doughnut from Baby Cakes (gluten-free amazingness) . . . does it get better than this? Seriously, last week I was so stressed out because of the amount of projects that I had to complete and now I’m on Spring Break relaxed as all get out.
I’m a big fan of this vacation thing.
My two goals this week are 1. to not look like a vampire when I go home and 2. continue to stuff my face with gluten-free baked goods.
. . . I’ll work out next week.
I hope y’all are having an amazing start to the week!

It was beautiful outside today and it’s November 11th (11/11), which has pretty much made up for the fact that it’s Monday. Almost.
Mondays are long school days since I have an 8:30am class that I have to wake up even earlier for since I have to catch the bus, so I typically throw on clothes and go.
And today was no different, I chose simple pieces, threw on a scarf and bracelet and was out the door. Sometimes that makes for some of the best outfits.
Hoping y’all are having a great start to the week!
