Are we really that surprised it’s taken me more than a week to post my June favorites (hello almost middle of July)?
This past month I’ve had a bunch of various favorites ranging from glittery sunscreen to a new mascara and everything in between…
This Benefit cheekathon palette is essentially the best thing I’ve ever bought.
It comes with 5 blushes/bronzers which typically range about $30 each… and the whole set cost $58 ($145 value). That’s a pretty amazing deal especially since each powder is full size.
It has taken me forever to find a face powder that is as great as this one.
This is the Make Up For Ever pro finish pressed powder ($36) in the shade 117 because I’m pale af.
This stuff acts as a great setting powder or light/medium coverage when going without liquid foundations.
The Tarte Tarteist lash paint ($23) has become a top contender for my mascara favorite along with Benefit’s they’re real.
This does a really good job of lengthening your lashes and giving them a bit of a volume kick too. Really, what more can you ask for.
Urban Decay’s 24/7 glide on eye pencils ($20) are life.
These are in the colors ‘Corrupt’ and ‘Roach’ (UD always has interesting names to say the least).
The thing I love about these are that they’re super easy to use… they glide really easily and the pigmentation is on point. Thumbs up UD, these will always be a classic eyeliner go-to for me.
Liquid Lipsticks, y’all.
These babies stay on my lips forever, and the pigmentation/formulation of each is basically heaven.
Here are some other, more “summer-y” favorites.
My sister gave me this sunscreen as part of my birthday present… and IT HAS GLITTER IN IT. Plus, it smells like strawberries and I’m practically still a six year old so this is perfect for me. You can find it here for $18.95. Also, the company’s name is Glitter Tots… so this is totally for children, but whatever.
The next thing is Vanilla puff powder by Lush. Y’all, this stuff is a miracle worker during hot, humid summer days. When I bought it an employee said she used it while wearing skirts or dresses to prevent chafing… or for under-boob sweat (ladies, you already know).
The only thing is… this is no longer available (boo), but Lush does have other dusting powders like this one ($8.95) that smell like jasmine. I’m not sure if the vanilla scent was just seasonal, or if they’ve just completely discontinued.. if you know, let me know in the comments!

Thanks for checking this post out! Leave me a comment with some of your favorite products this past month, I’d love to hear about them!
Nails of the future? I don’t know about all that, but I do know anything that makes painting my nails simpler is always welcome…
So I decided to pick up the Nails Inc London paint can while standing in line at Sephora (because they’re experts at persuading you to buy more). Watch the video to see what happens next:
And here’s some pictures I took of my nails just A DAY LATER…
Um, no. This stuff just flakes off. I kept thinking maybe I did it wrong – but after checking out more reviews I found a lot of people were having the same issues.
It’s also expensive – the spray can is $12 and the top/base coat is $8 (you can find it here)… and ain’t nobody got time for that.
I say until they can come up with a better formulation, stick with your OPI and Essie go-to’s.
Have you tried this? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
As I’ll explain in a later post… 2015 hasn’t exactly been the best year for me, but I’m optimistic I can make 2016 better.
And I’m hoping to do that through these New Year’s resolutions. Now, I’m not the kind of person who makes goals and thinks it will automatically be different. I understand these will take some work.
So here’s the hopefully somewhat motivational… always cliche New Year’s resolution list:
Number 1. Get healthy
I wrote a post back in September how I was making a “lifestyle change,” (you can read that post here) so far I’ve done a pretty decent job of taking better care of my body, working out more, and eating healthier… so I’m hoping this next year I can basically “intensify” my goal and become the healthiest I’ve ever been.
I’m doing this through planning, upping my workouts per week, and eating healthier.
How? Well… my fitbit is able to track my exercise, calorie and water intake, even sleep patterns which will be super helpful in figuring out I’m doing wrong so I can fix the problems.
And my LP agenda will be helpful because I’ll use the ‘Months’ portion of the agenda (which I previously never used) to track everything – and plan workouts.
Number 2. Blog more/Make more videos
I’ve always said I would blog more/upload more videos to Youtube, but it’s always been on the back burner because of school or work… and while I don’t think that’s a bad thing (education comes first) I would love to focus on this blog and my channel more this coming year.
I graduated with a broadcast degree and I’m not utilizing the video skills I’ve acquired because at work I’m mostly producing and writing scripts (see my bio for more details).
Number 3. Be more financially fit
I know my parents will be pleased with this one.
I’m excellent at spending money. I guess you could say it’s a talent of mine… which is why I need to become better at saving this next year. Especially because I realize there are certain things I want to do someday like travel overseas and buy a house – which I can’t do unless I have money to do so… so I’m hoping this next year I get better at saving and a spending less.
Number 4. Be more organized
I feel like I’m a pretty organized person… but I can always be better. I would love to learn how to manage my time better in 2016 and just overall be more… organized (really not much to it).
What are your resolutions for 2016? Let me know in the comments – I love seeing what other people are hoping to accomplish (it gives me some motivation as well!)
Happy New Year!
I haven’t done a review in a while and I recently created a new YouTube channel, so I thought it was the perfect time to do one.
I bought these liquid eyeshadows back in July and have been loving them. Check out the review below to see why!
*Forgot to mention another great pro in the video: these eyeshadows don’t contain any parabens!*

Here are a few of the things that I have been loving in the month of December!
I’ve used this practically every single day since I bought it, and it’s amazing! There isn’t a color I don’t like plus it has that signature Urban Decay pigmentation and is long-lasting.
This mascara is really lengthening & volumizing. The formulation is perfect, plus it doesn’t clump up or smudge after hours of wear.
Gorgeous natural blush that I’ve been used entirely way too much during this past month.
This color is absolutely stunning. It’s perfect alone or with a really pretty highlight (like Benefit’s High Beam)
This moisturizer and really hydrating and works great with my really sensitive and dry skin. I can really tell the difference in the morning after using this product.
6. Vanilla Peppermint Candle from Target
I bought this last year and am so sad that Target didn’t bring this scent back this year. It smells fantastic. I’ve been saving it by just leaving the lid off and letting the scent waft through my room.
These are so soft and comfy. I’ve worn these a bunch since I bought them on Black Friday.
This book is hilarious! If you have read Leandra’s blog Man Repeller then you know how funny and creative she is, and this book is no different.

That’s it! Thank you so much for check my blog out.
Please feel free to leave a comment letting me know what your favorite product from this past month was!
I love Christmas, but most of all I love spending Christmas with the people I value most in the world.
This year was different because my whole enormous family wasn’t in town so the day felt strangely quiet, but that meant no lack of love for the day itself and for the people I got to spend it with.
Here’s how I spent it ~
And in video:
I hope you liked this little glimpse of how my family and I spent our day!
